We'll I guess I'll go with the good news first! This past weekend I won Ms. Bikini Carolina by winning first overall at Fitness America Pageants Carolina! I had soooo much fun hanging out backstage with my Carolina Savage girls, and with my friends who drove over an hour to support me I still can't stop smiling!
For me this was a huge win, simply because I honestly had no idea how I was ever going to make it to the stage this time. Last week (maybe it was the week before, they're all beginning to run together lol) I went to see my chiropractor for a routine adjustment and asked him what we could do to for my back as it had been hurting so bad I could barely stand after 4pm. After some X-rays we discovered my already identified extra vertebra, with scoliosis, weird type minor spinabifida, and fibromyalgia were given a run for their money with what looks like degenerative disc and an old fracture.... Needless to say I've been in a lot of pain... So I cut out pretty much all training with impact which has helped and kept working with my Chiropractor Dr. Damien Rodulfo at Healing Hands Chiropractic and praying for the best! In addition, taking over my studio has been a tremendous blessing but quite stressful and time consuming (don't get me wrong I wouldn't trade a minute of it) meanwhile trying to get back in school... So trying to prep for a show is a lot harder now but though hell and high water! From all this added stress my body just didn't respond to my normal dieting methods (of course my cravings from stress were tougher to try to fight off as well) as quickly as normal the last week. However I still gave it my best, even after quite the tanning fisaco (torrential down pour ruining my spray tan so I had to retan before the show Saturday morning) and I just had fun instead of being concerned with a win, and it showed!
So thankful I'm a Savage girl, with a team of love, support, motivation, inspiration and laughs behind me. Thank you all so much for always being there and showing me how to simply enjoy every moment no matter the results.
